Sculpture restoration covers stone, plaster, gesso ornament and composite figures. Damage might be weathering, impact, failed old repairs, or corrosion of internal armatures. Each piece needs its own assessment.
Common problems we see
- Cracked or missing fingers, noses and decorative detail
- Delaminating plaster or gesso on interior ornament
- Staining and biological growth on outdoor stone
- Previous hard repairs that now stand out or trap moisture
Our approach
We document the object, stabilise loose material, and use reversible methods where heritage standards apply. Colour matching and surface finish are blended so repairs do not shout across a room or facade.
Large ecclesiastical and civic projects in our portfolio include St George's Hall Liverpool and work for the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
Getting started
Send photos from several angles with a sense of scale. For outdoor work, note whether the piece is still exposed to weather. We will advise whether conservation on site or studio work is appropriate.
