Gilding and gold leaf for heritage and decorative projects
Gold leaf gilding for private homes, commercial interiors and heritage buildings. Frames, mirrors, ceilings and architectural ornament.
Specialist gilding with real leaf, not metallic paint. We regild mirror and picture frames in family homes, restore ceiling detail in period properties and carry out larger programmes in churches, civic buildings and commercial spaces.
Mirror and picture frame regilding
Ornate mirror and picture frames in family homes are cleaned, repaired and regilded with real gold leaf, not metallic paint. Missing ornament can be cast and replaced before gilding so the frame reads as one scheme again.
Toning washes match new leaf to surviving patina where an aged finish is required.
Architectural gilding in period homes
Columns, staircases, ceiling roses and cornices are prepared, gilded and toned to suit the room. We work in stately homes, Victorian mansions and country cottages across Cheshire and the North West.
Burnished gold leaf on ornament
Statues, urns, plaques and decorative objects are regilded by hand. Surfaces are repaired and prepared before leaf is applied and burnished to the required finish.
Domestic and commercial clients receive the same craft standards we apply to civic and ecclesiastic projects.
Commercial and heritage gilding
We also gild altars, civic ceilings and large architectural schemes. Portfolio case studies include Liverpool Town Hall, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool Archdiocese parishes.
Victorian mansion: gilding, marbling and stenciling
Decorative restoration in a private Cheshire home: faux marble columns, gold leaf, historic stenciling, staircase ornament and regilded mirror frames.
